GENERATION HOPE

These Event General Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in all events, conferences, fundraising galas, meetings, workshops, informational events, volunteer projects, and other programs organized by Generation Hope, a project of Point of Difference e.V. (“Generation Hope,” “we,” “us,” or “Organizer”).
By registering for, attending, sponsoring, exhibiting at, volunteering at, or otherwise participating in any event organized by Generation Hope (“Event”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Registration and Participation
1.1
Registration is subject to availability and acceptance by Generation Hope.
1.2
All participants are required to provide complete and accurate registration information.
1.3
Generation Hope reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or revoke registrations or admission credentials for reasons relating to safety, proper event operations, legal compliance, or any other legitimate reason.
1.4
Registrations, tickets, name badges, or access credentials may not be transferred, resold, or shared without the prior written consent of Generation Hope.
2. Payment Terms
2.1
Participation fees, sponsorship contributions, exhibitor fees, and any other charges must be paid in full by the specified payment deadline.
2.2
All prices are stated in the indicated currency and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, duties, fees, or charges unless otherwise specified.
2.3
Failure to make payment on time may result in cancellation of registration or revocation of participation rights.
3. Cancellation and Refunds
3.1
All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
3.2
Unless otherwise specified for a particular Event:
- Cancellations received more than thirty (30) days before the start of the Event may be refunded, less an administrative processing fee.
- Cancellations received within thirty (30) days of the Event start date are generally not eligible for a refund.
- No refunds will be issued in the case of non-attendance.
3.3
Generation Hope may, at its sole discretion, permit substitute participants.
3.4
If an Event is postponed, cancelled, or materially altered due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, Generation Hope may, at its sole discretion, offer a replacement event date, a credit, or a refund.
4. Changes to the Event
4.1
Generation Hope reserves the right to modify the venue, schedule, speakers, program, or any other aspect of the Event at any time.
4.2
Information published prior to the Event may be changed without notice.
4.3
To the extent permitted by law, such changes shall not entitle participants to damages, compensation, or refunds.
5. Code of Conduct
Generation Hope is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
Participants agree to:
- Treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, or disruptive behavior.
- Comply with all applicable laws, venue regulations, and instructions from event personnel.
- Conduct themselves responsibly and professionally throughout the Event.
Generation Hope reserves the right to remove any individual from the Event whose behavior is deemed inappropriate, threatening, unlawful, or inconsistent with the values of the organization. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
6. Health and Safety
6.1
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and medically fit to participate in Event activities.
6.2
Participants must comply with all applicable health, safety, and emergency procedures.
6.3
Generation Hope may deny entry to or remove any person whose presence poses a risk to the health or safety of others.
7. Photography, Video, and Media Release
7.1
Photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, and live streams may be created during the Event.
7.2
By attending the Event, participants grant Generation Hope an unrestricted, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, and display photographs, videos, audio recordings, and likenesses of participants for educational, informational, documentary, marketing, communications, public relations, and fundraising purposes.
7.3
Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify Generation Hope in writing before the Event begins.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1
All Event materials, presentations, publications, recordings, logos, trademarks, and other content remain the property of Generation Hope or the respective rights holders.
8.2
Without prior written consent, Event content may not be reproduced, published, distributed, modified, or commercially exploited.
8.3
Content provided by participants shall remain the property of the participant. However, participants grant Generation Hope a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content for Event-related purposes.
9. Sponsors, Exhibitors, and Service Providers
9.1
Sponsors, exhibitors, service providers, and contractors must comply with all Event requirements and applicable laws.
9.2
Generation Hope reserves the right to remove booths, promotional materials, or activities that are deemed inappropriate or inconsistent with the mission and values of the organization.
9.3
Sponsors and exhibitors are solely responsible for obtaining any required permits, licenses, or governmental approvals.
10. Liability Insurance
10.1
Generation Hope may, at its discretion, obtain event liability insurance or comparable insurance coverage.
10.2
Such insurance generally does not provide coverage for participants, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, service providers, or their property.
10.3
Participants are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance coverage, including health, accident, travel, and property insurance.
10.4
Sponsors, exhibitors, service providers, and contractors may be required to maintain adequate liability insurance and provide proof of coverage.
10.5
Generation Hope shall not be liable for losses or damages arising from a participant’s failure to obtain adequate insurance coverage.
10.6
Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as granting any entitlement to insurance coverage provided by Generation Hope unless expressly confirmed in writing.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Generation Hope, Point of Difference e.V., and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, partners, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising out of or in connection with the Event.
11.2
Generation Hope assumes no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
11.3
Participation in the Event is entirely at the participant’s own risk.
11.4
To the extent permitted by law, the total liability of Generation Hope shall be limited to the actual participation fee paid by the participant.
12. Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Generation Hope, Point of Difference e.V., and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and representatives from and against any claims, damages, costs, liabilities, and expenses arising from:
- Their participation in the Event;
- Their negligent or intentional misconduct;
- Violations of these Terms; or
- Infringement of third-party rights.
13. Data Protection
13.1
Personal data shall be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Generation Hope Privacy Policy.
13.2
Data may be used for event management, communications, reporting, donor relations, organizational development, and related purposes.
13.3
Generation Hope implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Force Majeure
Generation Hope shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, modifications, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters;
- Public health emergencies or pandemics;
- Government actions or travel restrictions;
- War, civil unrest, or terrorism;
- Labor disputes;
- Utility outages or power failures;
- Transportation disruptions; or
- Any other force majeure event.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
To the extent permitted by law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of or relating to the Event shall be:

16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in whole or in part, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
17. Amendments
Generation Hope reserves the right to amend or update these Terms at any time.
The current version shall be published through official communication channels or on the Generation Hope website.
